THE STORY FAMILY
notes by John & Liz Partington
GEORGE STORY (bef. 1743 - aft. 1758) AND HIS CHILDREN
Our earliest known Story ancestor is George, who married Eleanor Potts at Bewcastle in 1759. They had a son, Jonathan, who married Mary Davison in 1789. Jonathan and Mary had a son, another George, born that same year.
THE CHILDREN OF JONATHAN (bef. 1773 - aft. 1788)
Jonathan’s son, George, was born in 1789. In 1826 in Carlisle he married Ann Carrick. The couple had a daughter, Mary Anne, born in 1833. George died in 1853 and Ann in 1878.
THE CHILDREN OF GEORGE (1789 - 1853)
George’s daughter, Mary Anne, was born in 1833. At some point she married a Captain William Robson. He however died in 1865, and two years later Mary Anne married Arthur Smith, by whom she had two children – Arthur George born in 1870 and Annie. Mary Anne died in 1884 and Arthur in 1905.
